Transmission Sprocket Installation
1. Install the transmission sprocket (with belt) on the key drive equipment. 2. Install the sprocket nut. The following procedure is founded on whether a fresh or used nut is being installed. Note: The Tranny Sprocket nut has kept handed threads. Turn the nut counterclockwise to set up on the primary drive gear. Sprocket Nut: apply reddish colored thread lock to the threads of the sprocket nut. Likewise smear a small quantity of reddish colored thread lock or clean engine oil inside experience of the sprocket nut and the outside experience of the sprocket. Limit the application to where in fact the surfaces of the two parts contact each other. Install the sprocket nut until finger limited. 3. Obtain Final Drive Sprocket Locking Instrument (BAKER P/N: Tool-C) to lock tranny sprocket. Proceed as follows: A. Obtain Mainshaft Locknut Wrench/Pilot (BAKER P/N: Tool-D). Proceed the following: A. Install pilot on threaded end of mainshaft. B. Slide sleeve of locknut wrench over pilot and onto sprocket nut. C. Tighten sprocket nut to 60 ft-lbs. (81 Nm). As the nut is normally tightened the deal with of the sprocket locking application rises to contact the pivot shaft, therefore stopping sprocket/mainshaft rotation. 5. Scribe a straight series on the tranny sprocket nut continuing the collection over onto the transmission sprocket. Tighten the transmission sprocket nut an additional 35 to 40 degrees. 6. Install lockplate over nut in order that the two diagonally contrary holes align with two tapped holes in sprocket. To find the best suit, lockplate could be rotated to several positions and can be positioned with either part facing sprocket. 7. If holes in lockplate do not align with those in sprocket, tighten sprocket nut as important (up to 45 degrees optimum) until sprocket and lockplate holes happen to be in alignment.
